October half-term week for most schools - one of the busiest times for us in the school travel industry.
Wherever you are travelling, whomever you have booked with, I wish you a week without problems and with lots of good educational opportunities.
A blog in which I try to assist all those organising school tours.
It's hard work, but so rewarding when you get it right

Iceland's exciting geology easier to get to!
All geology and geography teachers are well aware of the benefits of a study tour to Iceland, so it is especially good to see more flights becoming available.
Of course, Icelandair continues with daily flights from Heathrow, Gatwick, Glasgow and Manchester, but there are now three budget airlines also looking for the business - which might help to make fares more attractive.
From next Spring, Iceland Express will have daily flights
from Gatwick, WOW will also serve Gatwick on Fridays and Sundays.
In addition, easyJet will be adding Manchester (Tuesdays and
Sundays) and Edinburgh (Mondays and Thursdays) to its existing offer from Luton
(Tues, Thurs, Fr, Sun)
Let's hope that the competition will help keep fares down - and permit even more British schools take their groups to the geysers and volcanoes.

Direct flights from Southend to Dresden
This looks interesting for those in Essex and area - OLT Express are introducing daily flights between London Southend and Dresden.
An excellent route into an interesting part of Saxony.
Cold War history, art and music, the geology of Saxon Switzerland are all within easy reach.
