Get your EHICs in good time.

If you are travelling to a country in the European Union (or to Switzerland, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein), then every person in your group should carry a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).

The card, which is free, proves entitlement to the same level of health care as a citizen of the country you are in, which is not necessarily the same as you would get here.

However, when combined with travel insurance, which every passenger should also have, speedy and good treatment should be easily obtained.

For full details of EHIC, including a link to an application form, take a look at:  http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcareabroad/EHIC/Pages/Introduction.aspx

There’s nothing to stop you applying now – no need to wait until you think of travelling.

Berlin even more accessible!

Lufthansa starts direct flights to Berlin in June to the new Berlin Brandenburg International airport (which is the same place as the existing Schoenefeld).

Flights from Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham help make this a must-visit destination.
